• Starting the Game
  • Press the white play button in the lower center of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
  • The welcome screen has music and sound buttons in the upper left corner & a button to reset game progress in the upper right corner.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Press any key or click your mouse to start the level.
    • Press any key (other than R) or click your mouse to jump.
    • Press the R key to restart the current level.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with a finger to jump.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The upper left corner of the screen has buttons for music control and sound control.
    • The top center of the screen shows the current level number.
    • The upper right corner of the screen has buttons for returning home & restarting the level.
    • The level select screen shows unlocked levels in white & locked levels in gray. Beat levels show how many stars you earned on them.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • The goal of this game is to get the duck safely to the egg.
    • Avoid running into spikes or snakes and collect as many stars as you can in each stage.
    • As you progress through the game some levels have gray blocks that fall after walked on & areas that are locked off, requiring collecting a key to unlock them.
  • Levels
    • This game has 20 stages which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by making it to the egg at the end of the level.
      • You lose a level if you run into a spike, get hit by a snake, or get stuck to where it is impossible to make it to the egg at the end.
      • This game offers unlimited continues starting you at the beginning of the level you died on.
    • Star ratings
      • Each stage has 3 stars on it which you can collect by running into them.
      • You do not need to collect all 3 stars to beat a level.
      • You only earn a star rating if you beat the level.
      • You can later replay previously beat levels to try to earn a higher star rating on them.
  • Tips
    • Jumping tips
      • On some levels you have to jump early right after starting the level to be able to jump without bumping into a wall.
      • If you jump while close to a ceiling you may bump your head off the ceiling, cutting your jump short. In some cases this is beneficial while in other cases it may be frustrating.
      • On the final level you need to jump off the first wall, jump off it, and then jump before touching the second wall to fall through without hitting the spikes.
      • When you jump if you land on the side of the wall high up near the green grass you may bounce right off it. In some cases you need to aim a bit lower (or jump earlier) to land on the broader part of the wall.
      • When you jump off of walls you also jump outward, with the distance being greater the higher up you are from the ground you’ll land on.
    • Temporary blocks
      • Some temporary blocks require great care as they are required either to run across or jump off of.
      • If you make an error with a temporary block that is vital restart the level and play again.
    • Stars
      • If you earn fewer than 3 stars on a level continue on to play the other remaining levels & then come back to try to earn a better star rating.
        • Levels get harder as you progress, so the stuff that seemed hard early in the game will likely seem easy by the time you get near the end of the game.
      • Some stars are easier to collect if you wait to collect the key.
